It took 112 years for golf to make its way back into the Olympic Games, but only four holes for England’s Justin Rose to card the first ace in Olympic history.
Rose used a 7-iron on the 191-yard par-3 4th hole and raised his arms in celebration when the ball landed softly and rolled several feet into the cup.
The ace brought Rose to three under par after four holes, but he still has some work to do to catch current round one leaders Marcus Fraser (-8) of Australia and Canada’s Graham DeLaet (-5).

Though the first half of 2016 has offered many films well worth seeing, it has also seen its fair share of duds, whether at the box office, in the words of critics or in the eyes of fans.
The Boys in the Boat, a film about the University of Washington rowing team’s inspiring journey to winning a gold medal at the Berlin Olympics in 1936, comes to theaters on Dec. 25. Directed by Oscar winner George Clooney, the movie is all about the challenges that the young men faced trying to row and go to school in the middle of the Great Depression. The film is based on Daniel James Brown’s bestselling book by the same name.
