Biography: Alicia Keys is an American singer-songwriter, best known for her debut album Songs in A Minor (2001) which was a worldwide success selling over 12 million copies. For this album alone, Keys won five Grammy Awards in 2002.

Her second studio album, The Diary of Alicia Keys (2003), was also a major success and sold over 8 million copies worldwide. She won a further four Grammy Awards for this album.

Keys has also had a number of hit singles, starting with Fallin' (2001) from her debut album which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. Her second number one hit was a duet with Usher titled My Boo (2004).
